The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District serves over 17,600 students in its 117 square mile service area. The district includes 18 elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools, Great Beginnings Early Education Center, Summit Technology Academy, a secondary alternative school and a special-education day-treatment facility. Fully accredited through the state, the Lee’s Summit School District is among just four districts in the metro area winning Missouri’s coveted Distinction in Performance Award all 11 years it has been offered. In addition, Lee’s Summit students’ composite 2010-11 ACT college-entrance exams are among the highest in the metropolitan area at 23.5 (compared to the state average of 21.6 and national average of 21.1). Class of 2011 seniors earned $26.8 million in college scholarship potential with approximately 85 percent of the 2010 senior class enrolled in college, according to a follow-up survey.

The Blue Springs R-4 School District currently educates over 13,500 students and includes two high schools, a freshman center, four middle schools, and 13 elementary schools. In addition, the district has an early childhood/special services center and an alternative high school program. The district has a long tradition of excellence and innovation and strives to prepare all students to become productive members of society and lifelong learners. The district offers a curriculum that is both challenging and comprehensive and provides many opportunities for student achievement. The Blue Springs School District has the highest average ACT score in the metropolitan area and an extensive college preparatory curriculum. Many vocational opportunities also exist for students with a variety of career goals. While the district is growing, it continues to provide excellent student/teacher ratios as well as many positive classroom and extracurricular experiences for students. Students attend schools that are state-of-the-art and through community support the district has been able to completely renovate some of its oldest facilities while creating additional space in many buildings.
Community support is underscored, as the district has passed 23 consecutive bond elections over the past 30 years that have resulted in great advances for students.
