Christine Bushyhead is founder of the law firm, Bushyhead LLC, where the attorneys practice in the areas of land use, real estate transactions, and economic development, along with public works and municipal law. Christine’s clients range from international big-box retailers and municipalities to financial institutions and private landowners.
Prior to entering private practice in 2000, Christine held positions for the cities of Gladstone and Lee’s Summit as in house city attorney, and served on those cities’ Management Teams. Christine also served as an elected city council member for the City of Lee’s Summit from 2002-2006, where she exhibited leadership in the city’s downtown master planning process, and overall community development initiatives, including airport expansion. Christine routinely serves the community when asked, in such roles as a participant in the LS360 Strategic Planning efforts, chairman of the City’s Charter Review Commission, chairman of the City’s Cultural Arts Facility Task Force and member of the Downtown Masterplan Task Force. In 2013, Christine was honored as Lee’s Summit Citizen of the Year. Christine received her Bachelors of Arts with Honors in Political Science from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and her juris doctorate degree from the same institution.
