Blue Springs R-4 Schools

The Blue Springs School District currently educates over 13,500 students and includes two high schools, a freshman center, four middle schools, and thirteen elementary schools. In addition, the district had an early childhood/special services center and an alternative high school program. The district has a long tradition of excellence and innovation and strives to prepare all students to become productive members of society and lifelong learners. The district offers a curriculum that is both challenging and comprehensive and provides many opportunities for student achievement. The Blue Springs School District has the highest average ACT score in the metropolitan area and an extensive college preparatory curriculum. Many vocational opportunities also exist for students with a variety of career goals. While the district is growing, it continues to provide excellent student/teacher ratios as well as many positive classroom and extracurricular experiences for students. Students attend schools that are state-of-the-art and through community support the district has been able to completely renovate some of its oldest facilities while creating additional space in many buildings.

Community support is underscored as the district has passed 23 consecutive bond elections over the past 30 years that have resulted in great advances for students. The partnership among students, parents, community, and staff assures the greatest opportunities for students and is a pivotal part of the district’s heritage.
