LSEDC News Release

|
The LSEDC and Gale Communities are coordinating a grassroots effort for New Longview and Lee's Summit to be a featured destination on a new television program hosted by Tom Brokaw that will air on the USA Network called, "American Character Along Highway 50".
The program is featuring communities with "America's most fascinating characters and diverse communities", and of course, we feel like New Longview and Lee's Summit should be a stop along their journey.
Click here to nominate New Longview and Lee's Summit by sharing your own experience and in your own words what makes our community or some special part of it remarkable. All you have to do is go to the web site listed on your handout and feel free to include photos that capture the character of New Longview and Lee's Summit and tell why you are proud to be a part of this community.
Why New Longview? Here are a few attributes you may want to consider:
• New Longview is the country's largest "art restoration project" showcasing 95 year-old Greco-Craftsmen architecture • Called by R.A. Long the "World's Most Beautiful Farm" • Award winning Longview Elementary School • Progressive, family friendly community • The colorful character of Loula and her beloved horses that is still alive today • Cultural arts amenities available through MCC-Longview • The creation of Eastern Jackson County's premier art event - the Longview Art & World Music Festival - with the collaboration of Summit Art, MCC-Longview and the New Longview Foundation • Parks and recreation's role in promoting healthy lifestyles in the community • The Water Tower, Show Horse Arena, 2 Entry Arches and pergola • Longview Mansion, a premier event facility to share the beauty and the magic of Longview • And many other reasons why you choose to live, work and play in New Longview, or simply admire it from afar.
Please help us draw attention to our community and the special character that is abundant in New Longview.
