Townsend Capital, owners of the Summit Technology Campus in Lee's Summit, recently announced it signed a lease with American Century Investments for 30, 000 square feet of space inside the campus. The lease agreement includes an option for an adjoining 10, 000 square feet of space.
This space will be configured and equipped as a backup business location with a small data center for American Century Investments to remain operational in the case of any temporary business disruption. The Summit Technology Campus location was selected after an exhaustive survey of the market within a 40-mile radius of Kansas City.
Fred Wells, director of construction and property management for American Century Investments, said the Lee's Summit Campus meets the firm's requirements for infrastructure redundancy, security and accessibility.
American Century Investments joins a number of major companies that have leased data center and call center facilities at the Summit Technology Campus.
The American Century Investments agreement was announced as Townsend Capital nears completion of a major redevelopment effort involving demolition of space and reconfiguration of the campus.
