On Thursday, John Knox Village celebrated the grand opening of its Westview Wing assisted living addition.
“This ain’t your grandma’s nursing home,” said Dan Rexroth, President & CEO of John Knox Village.
Westview Wing adds 25 new assisted living apartments ranging from 510-554 square feet. The apartments include a kitchenette with quartz counter tops and a spacious restroom with a roll-in shower.
Residents will be able to access three restaurants, a movie theater, a salon and the John Knox Pavilion from interior hallways. They will also have access to all John Knox Village amenities including its fitness centers and community garden.
The addition brings the total number of assisted living units at John Knox Village to 183 with 63 of those units dedicated to memory care.
LSEDC President Rick McDowell said the addition further solidifies John Knox Village’s leadership in the retirement community industry.
“We are very blessed to have John Knox Village in our community,” said McDowell. “Its commitment to excellence ensures that Lee’s Summit residents have access to high-quality care in their retirement years.”
2020 is John Knox Village’s 50th anniversary year.
