LSEDC statement on anticipated closing of Toys R Us Distribution Center

“The Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council has not been in contact with representatives of Toys R Us. The Lee’s Summit Toys R Us distribution facility at 420 S.E. Thompson Dr. employs 300 workers. Because demand for workers is at an all-time high, LSEDC anticipates that any displaced employees will quickly be absorbed in the current labor market.

The Kansas City industrial real estate market is one of the top 10 markets in the U.S. right now. The Lee’s Summit Toys R Us distribution facility consists of 400,000 square feet of distribution space, and LSEDC looks forward to working with the commercial real estate and brokerage community in the future to lease the space. “
