“Bill’s past experiences on both the state and regional level will be a huge asset for the board. We’re really excited to have Bill represent Lee’s Summit,” said Brad Cox, chairman of the Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council.

Brown received a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Missouri and is founder of Spectrum Consulting Group LLC, an economic development consulting firm to create public-private partnerships that aid the public policy setting process. Prior to founding the company, he worked for Fannie Mae at the local, regional and national level. Brown is actively involved in the Kansas City community including the Eastern Jackson County Workforce Investment Board, vice chair of the Lee’s Summit Land Clearance and Redevelopment Authority, and the Lee’s Summit R7 School District Business Roundtable Steering Committee.

Bob Marcusse, president and CEO of the Kansas City Area Development Council, commented, “With Bill’s extensive experience in economic development he will be a strong asset to our board, and the continued support of the Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council will further strengthen the KC region.”

KCADC’s managing board meets monthly and helps make decisions regarding staffing, budgets and new initiatives. Brown will serve as a Lee’s Summit representative on the KCADC Board of Directors for one year.
